Stream 3 process of the

Entrepreneur program of Québec

  • A. Signing of the agreement
  • B. Evolve your plan. The first step we work on together is to develop or adapt your personal and business plan and align it with local government, market, and immigration requirements and guidelines. This adapted business strategy will be used in your immigration application. At this stage, you may already be eligible to receive the official and required support from an organization specializing in business takeovers, which will guide you throughout the transfer process. Conexa will work closely with you and this organization to carry out your business project. The resources deployed will be tailored to the specific needs of the transfer process.
  • C. Gathering of documents and submission of the application to the Quebec immigration authorities (“MIFI”). At this point, you have a viable succession business plan, now it’s time to focus on the rest of your immigration application. Conexa’s immigration legal team will complete your immigration file and will need your cooperation to fill in any gaps in the information requested from immigration authorities. At the same time, the incubator will complete a formal offer of service, required in the application.
  • D. The examination of your file by the authorities. The immigration authorities will review your file and assign a file number.
  • E. Selection interview and/or possible trip to Quebec. You can be invited to attend a selection interview in Montreal with the help of Conexa’s lawyer. You can also visit Montreal/Quebec City to explore the local market, all supported by Conexa.
  • F. Decision. After review, the immigration officer will either accept your file as is or ask for clarification. In this case, Conexa’s legal team will assist in answering questions to ensure that the file is accepted. The immigration officer may also refuse the case. In this case, if Conexa’s legal department believes that MIFI has not met its obligations, an administrative appeal will be filed to reverse the outcome at no additional cost.
  • G. Immigration application and settling in Quebec.
In the two years following submission of your application, you must have made takeover bid in accordance with the business project presented in the succession plan and service offer. You must also demonstrate that you made the planned expenditures for the acquisition of the business. Therefore, we will assist with a work permit application. If a visitor visa is required to come explore Quebec or business opportunities, our legal team will handle the application as well.
  • H. Submission of the Application for Canadian Permanent Residence to IRCC. Once you become eligible, our legal team will be able to prepare and file your application for Canadian permanent residence during this final step with the federal immigration authorities (IRCC).
  • I. Implementation of a business project. When you arrive in Quebec, all the services of the incubator start to be offered. From a personal point of view, we will help you, if needed, to find a temporary or permanent home, schools for your children, suggestions and recommendations of all kinds. From a business perspective, you now have access to your own office in the historic center of Montreal, as well as assistance with financing, coaching, networking, business development, etc.
  • J. One year of access to various professional business services. Over the next 12 months, you will be support by Conexa. Our team will continue to support you and your business plan.
  • K. Alumni Conexa: You will be part of our alumni group in Québec and share your experience with future entrepreneurs.
