Stream 2 process of the

Entrepreneur program of Québec

  • A. Signing of the agreement
  • B. Evolve your business plan. The first step we work on together is to develop or adapt your business plan and align it with local government, market and immigration requirements and guidelines. This adapted business plan will be used in your immigration application.
  • C. Regulatory alignment of your project. Our experts assess the coherence of your project with the requirements of Stream 2. You will receive precise recommendations to strengthen your file and maximize your chances of approval. This step ensures your project is credible, realistic, and aligned with MIFI’s expectations. We will work with you and make recommendations that must be observed and followed before obtaining approval and proceeding to the next step, the immigration application supervised by our legal department.
  • D. Gathering of documents and submission of the application to the Quebec immigration authorities (“MIFI”). At this point, you have a viable business plan, now it’s time to focus on the rest of your immigration application. Conexa’s immigration legal team will complete your immigration file and will need your cooperation to fill in any gaps in the information requested from immigration authorities.
  • E. The examination of your file by the authorities. Your complete application is submitted to Quebec immigration authorities. At this point, a file number will be issued, marking the official beginning of the evaluation process.
  • F. Selection interview and/or possible trip to Quebec. You can be invited to attend a selection interview in Montreal with the preparation of Conexa’s lawyer. You can also visit Montreal or other Quebec City where you plan to settle, to explore the local market.
  • G. Decision, Québec notice of intention to select. After review, the immigration officer will either accept your file as it is or ask for clarification. In this case, Conexa’s legal team will assist in answering questions to ensure that the file is accepted. If you meet all the conditions of the programme, you will receive a notice of intent which will enable you to apply for a work permit to continue the registration and stat up process of your company in Québec. The immigration officer may also refuse the case. In this case, if Conexa’s legal department believes that MIFI has not met its obligations, an administrative appeal will be filed to reverse the outcome at no additional cost.
  • H. Visitor and Work Visa. If a visa is required for a visit to Montreal/Quebec, Conexa’s legal team will apply for a visitor’s visa for you, at no additional cost. The Work visa is also included since after your notice of intent letter you must start your business in Québec no later than two years after the issuance of the work permit.
  • I. Implementation of a business project. When you arrive in Quebec, all the support from Conexa and partners will be offered. We might guide you, if needed, to find a temporary or permanent home, schools for your children, suggestions and recommendations of all kinds. From a business perspective, you now have access to your own office in the historic center of Montreal, as well as assistance with financing, coaching, networking, business development, etc.
  • J. Submission of the Application for Canadian Permanent Residence to IRCC. Once you become eligible, our legal team will be able to prepare and file your application for Canadian permanent residence during this final step with the federal immigration authorities (IRCC).
  • K. One year of access to various professional business services. Over the next 12 months, you will be support by Conexa. Our team will continue to support you and your business plan.
  • L. Alumni Conexa: You will be part of our alumni group in Québec and share your experience with future entrepreneurs.
